Out of all the careers, and actress sounds best. An actress "uses physical and emotional characteristics to identify a character whom they are portraying." I know it's extremely hard, and if you don't have "it", you don't have "it". According to the second website, you pretty much make it or you don't. If you don't, you have to move on. In theatre I've learned a lot. Projection, pronunciation, cheating, etc. If I were to really go after this, I would need and agent, a portfolio, a diet;) and more boldness.

RENT- a Pivital Show
http://www.siteforrent.com/abouttheshow/the-story-of-rent.html
The show RENT was a "pivotal show" because it's not like other plays. It has a variety of music and dances, it's not all one type. The content is another reason. It isn't recommended for children under 13. But RENT was the 7th longest running show in Broadway history.

My Costume
My first costume as a son, I feel like I'm wearing a dress. I don't feel proud or manly AT ALL. I havn't seen my soldier costume yet, but I'm sure it's better than the son's costume. I LOVE my last costume. I get to be a girl. I wear a reddish-pink and black dress thing. I think it's pretty. I think once I'm in costume and make-up will definately get me into character while I'm a soldier. "Look the part. Feel the part." A very true statement. When I actually look like a boy, I'll probably feel and act more like one.
The Story of Jesus

Make-up plays such a big role in this production. Every person is painted. Their head, arms, legs, and (some men) their chest are all painted. They go through 4-5 gallons of paint every night. In our production, I think make-up will play an important role. The brides will look extremely different from the girl soldiers. Grandmother Fa, as of right now, doesn't look old, but with make-up, she will. Make-up IS an important role in theatre.

Elements of Theatre
The only show I saw was STOMP, but it was neat how the elements came about. Lighting, props, set design, costume, and performance all made the show BOOM. The props I think were the most important, because the whole time the props were being beat on. Lighting helped bring attention to certain people, and it showed the intensity of the music. The costumes indicated the personalities of each character along with the performance of each person. They are coming together in our play slowly but surely. I wont see problem areas once we're finished setting everything up. The show would be horrible without one of the elements. All the little elements make the show.

Costume Design
http://www.aact.org/people/costumedesigner.html
Costume design is really neat because the designer is creating a specific look for a specific person. The clothes and accessories, in a way, describe the character to the audience before they speak. It's not really new or useful information. It doesn't contradict either. It's pretty basic. Costume designer designs costumes.

Theatrical Technology
I wasn't here for the "set day", so I didn't participate in it, but I found a website about theatrical technology. I think theatrical technology is very important. Without it, there wouldn't be costume design, set design, lighting, or any little thing that makes up the play. I think it has such a trumendous role in this play. The backgrounds are painted, our costumes infer our race, almost everything that makes the play come to life is in theatrical technology. I don't think I would like doing the technical side of theatre, but I'll never know until I try.
