My Response to Duray's Kabuki post

I thought Kabuki would have been intresting from what I read, but I changed my mind. (The make up is intresting, though)

My response fo Sharleen's STOMP post

I completely agree!!! About everything! It was amazing! The characters, the STOPM, everything.

STOMP

STOMP was AMAZING!!! I loved the music. I was so intrigued the whole time. How can people make music from trash? My least favorite part was that they didn't talk. (But it was still outstanding.) I liked meeting the actors after; They were very down to earth and positive. I didn't really see elements of Greek or Kabuki except for music. I learned that your body language can let the audience know who you are. Although the characters didn't talk, you could tell the different personalities of the characters.

Greek Theatre

Greek theatre is very black or white: Tragedy or comedy. Live or die. Love or hate. Kabuki was more... artistic. In Greek theatre the men wore masks. In Kabuki theatre the performers wore heavy makeup to define their characters. They both were performed by males (at one point).
I think I would have liked Greek theatre better, because it was so extreme it would have had my attention the whole time.

Kabuki

Kabuki is completely different than what I thought it was. I thought it was Chinese people singing opera. It is actually Japanese people using music, dance, pantomime, and drama in theatre form. I wouldn't have been in Kabuki in ancient Japan. Women were in it, but after some dances they weren't allowed to be in it anymore.

my response to Larissa's 1st post

I think it's neat how you've been going to the theatre or the past 3 summers, and you don't act like you run the place. You know you have things you can get better at, and there are still things to learn. I like that you are so humble about it.

My response to Sharleen's 1st post

I really like how you are so positive about this program. I think it's really neat what you expect out of it. I'm looking foward to working with you. Keep the positive attitude ;)
